  1. Astagfirullah for messing up your comments page for "Niqab is Necessary in Islam"
My old fault of writing something and pressing the Publish button without really thinking through what I should be saying.
I hope I have spoilt things too badly insha'Allah.

  3. Assalamu Alaikum!

I am hoping you could give me some advice. I am thinking about wearing the niqab. The only thing that is holding me back is what other people will say and my family. I am a very new convert. Prior to converting I attending a conservative mennonite church so I wore plain dress with kapps (headcoverings that covered the hair only). My parents are used to me dressing modestly. However, prior to wearing the hijab I had never fully covered my hair, ears and neck. They had a big problem with it but said it was my choice. The niqab would be a totally different story for them. I was always drawn to the niqab. I always found it fascinating even before converting. I don't know how to go about getting over my fears of what other people think, how to handle negative comments, harassment, and mainly my parents and friends. Could you offer any advice?

  4. Wa'alaykum Salaam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu!

Alhamdulillah sis. It's great to know that Allah has inspired your heart to want to wear the Niqab. Being a revert, it might certainly be difficult. But like you mentioned, your parents are used to your covering the hair so that would mean that they wouldn't object to the Hijab, In sha Allah. So take it one step at a time. Once you family has gotten used to seeing you in the Hijab, you can start wearing the Niqab.

When you want to do something for the sake of Allah, He really makes it easy for you. If we are to be worried about what people might think or say about our Niqab, it's natural that when you obey the commandments of Allah, you have expect some criticism and humiliation at some point, but so long as Allah is happy with what we're doing, that should be enough. Because for one thing, there is no obedience to the creation at the disobedience of Allah and for another, "Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah at the risk of displeasing the people, Allah will take care of him and protect him from them. But whoever seeks the pleasure at the risk of displeasing Allah, Allah will abandon him to the care of people.” [Tirmidhi]

Allah Almighty says, "Whoever has Taqwa of Allah, He will give him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect." [Al Quran 65:2-3]

Make plenty of Duaa and Allah will definitely open up a way for you. You are in our Duaas too :)

  6. Assalamu alaikum dear sister.
My problem is that i was born and raised in a so called muslim family.but the truth is that the name muslim and practice were 2 different things.my mum fasts ramadan but my father doesn't.They're only muslims when the eid comes, twice a year.
The fact is that i was a lot like them until 4 years ago when i saw the truth of islam.
The point is they're into modern islam, they're scared of"extremism" and by extremism they mean the hijjab, not mentioning niqab or burka.
But elhamdulilah recently i decided i want to wear hijjab.I really want to, but i'm affraid of my parents' reaction.
Pls give me some advice, hiw should I start telling them what i'm to do inshaAllah
    P.S. My father drinks alkool
    assalamu alaikum sisters, jazakAllah khair:)

    1. Wa'alaykum salaam warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu Ukhty!

Wearing the Hijab is obligatory on every Muslim woman and we have to obey His Commands, because their is no obedience to the creation at the disobedience of Allah. None of us are guaranteed of a tomorrow, and as tough as it is, we have to try to the best of our abilities to do whatever good we can. You'd better start wearing the Hijab straight away sister and because you are doing it for the Sake of Allah, no matter how many problems comes your way, Allah will help you. It's tough sis, I know, but give priority to pleasing Allah and everything else will be made incredibly easy for you. That's how Allah works sis. You really want to do something for Allah, He'll help you. Just make lots of Dua and Allah will change the hearts of your parents too.
